This page describes what Glowli collects, why, and who sees it. Plain English where possible.
What Glowli collects
- Location — used to draw your position on the map and rank routes by sun. Location is processed on your device. Routes you start are stored locally; we do not upload your continuous location to our servers.
- HealthKit data (steps, heart rate, walks) — only if you grant access. Used to enrich the in-app activity log and to write your walks back to Apple Health. We do not transmit HealthKit data to our servers.
- Account identifiers — a per-device user ID is generated locally for sync purposes. If you sign in, we store an email-hashed identifier.
- Purchase records — handled by RevenueCat and Apple. We see only that an entitlement is active or expired, not card details.
- Usage analytics — anonymous events (screen views, taps, errors) sent to PostHog so we can fix bugs and improve the app.
What we do not collect
- We do not sell or rent your data.
- We do not run third-party advertising trackers.
- We do not access your contacts, photos, or calendar.
Where data is stored
App preferences and walk history live on your device. Sync data (when enabled) lives in our backend at api.glowli.app. PostHog stores anonymous analytics in their EU/US clusters.
Your controls
- Revoke location and HealthKit access at any time in iOS Settings → Glowli.
- Reset all local data from Settings → Clear & reseed.
- Email hello@glowli.app to request data export or deletion.
Children
Glowli is not directed at children under 13.
